i shattered my Full Promise. dang. I drew just a teensy bit -- That's better than nothing, but again i'm super unhappy with myself. I'm at that point in the drawing where I hate every aspect! To my brain:

• the character design is derivative
• all the poses look flat
• the anatomy doesn't make sense
• the character isn't emotive
• the narrative is nothing
• trying to show off the design with a full body shot WHILE trying to make an expressive, entertaining pose is making everything worse

etc. etc..

are these things true? Well, the design is supposed to fit in with pre-existing characters, so derivation is good. and the design has a bunch of nods and references to what the character embodies, so it's actually really good! i have to convince myself of this :P

the poses look flat because I want a fairly straight on shot, to show the full design without occluding too much.

the anatomy is a bit rough, the elbows and knees and chest are proving to be problems with the design elements I have there.

i could go on but there's no time.
